Rebecca M. Kirsch, DO
Dr. Kirsch joined the Halifax Regional Hospital emergency
department in January. She completed her doctor of osteo-
pathic medicine degree at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic
Medicine in Erie, Penn., and received a bachelor of science in
biology and a bachelor of arts in international studies from
Idaho State University in Pocatello.
Dr. Kirsch completed her emergency medicine osteo-
pathic residency at South Pointe Hospital in Warrensville,
Ohio, and her traditional internship at Conemaugh Memorial Medical
Center in Johnstown, Penn. She is certifed by the American Osteopathic
Association.
Ming Y. Liu, MD
Dr. Liu joined the Halifax Regional Hospital team of anes-
thesiologists in January. He received his medical degree in
anesthesiology from Jiangxi Medical College in Nanchang,
China. He completed his internship at Salem Hospital in
Salem, Mass., and his residency in anesthesiology at George
Washington University in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Liu completed a research fellowship in the department
of surgery at Harvard Medical School in Boston. He is certifed
by the American Board of Anesthesiology.
Gregory Shuford, MD
Dr. Shuford joined the Halifax Regional Hospital team of
anesthesiologists in February. He completed his medical
degree at the Georgetown University School of Medicine in
Washington, D.C., and received his bachelor of science degree
from Tufts University in Medford, Mass.
Dr. Shuford completed an anesthesiology residency at
both Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C., and
Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh.
New faces join HRHS medical staf
Halifax Regional Health System (HRHS) recently welcomed four new healthcare
providers to its medical staf.
Tenielle Holste, MPAS, PA-C
Holste joined Southern Virginia Orthopedics in December.
She received her master’s degree in physician assistant stud-
ies and her bachelor’s degree in health sciences from Union
College in Lincoln, Neb. She also earned a bachelor’s degree
in biology from Southern Adventist College in Collegedale,
Tenn.
Holste is licensed by the National Commission on Certif-
cation of Physician Assistants. Her most recent experience in-
cludes serving as a physician assistant for Indian Health Services in Omak, Wash.
