HOW
are you doing with your
New Year’s resolutions? If you’re like
many Americans, taking control
of your health is probably right at
the top of the list. Perhaps you have
promised yourself that this time
you’re really going to make a com-
mitment to develop better habits. But
where do you start?
Why not begin by participating
in Halifax Regional Health System’s
(HRHS) Healthy Living EXPO? Tis
year’s health fair will take place Sun-
day, March 20, 1–3 p.m., at Halifax
County High School.
Know your numbers
At the EXPO you will be able to
participate in a variety of free screen-
ings that will help you decide exactly
how to get a handle on your health.
Knowing your blood pressure,
cholesterol, body mass index and
blood glucose level can put you
on the road to lifestyle changes
that will help prevent heart attack,
stroke and cardiovascular disease.
Appointments are required for
these screenings. Call
434-517-3094
to sign up.
Te EXPO is also a great place
to talk with the experts about
nutrition, weight loss, exercise and
healthy eating—there will even be
samples of tasty, healthy foods.
Te EXPO will have something
for everyone:

can help you make decisions about
advance directives and learn about

tion, the American Red Cross, the
YMCA, the Alzheimer’s Association,
Halifax Home Health and Hospice
services, and MedAssist of Halifax.
