UMAMI
? Sometimes described as
meaty or brothlike, umami is a fifth taste
sensation—the one that you get from
cheese and tomatoes. The flavor comes
from glutamate, which is found naturally in
nearly all foods that contain protein.

Take a walk to remember: Researchers
have found that older adults who walk at
least 6 miles a week cut their risk of devel-
oping memory problems in half. Walking
appears to protect brain size and, in turn,
PRESERVE MEMORY
in old age.

haven’t seen an ophthalmologist (a medi-

may be worth your while to visit EyeCare
America at

may qualify for an eye exam and care at no
cost to you.
