What
do you get when you
add an interventional cardiolo-
gist to Halifax Regional Hospital’s
Center for Cardiovascular Services?
A strong team ready to keep your
ticker ticking.
In August, the staf of HRH’s
Center for
Cardiovascular
Services and its
three cardiologists
welcomed inter-
ventional cardiologist Janardhan
Srinivasan, MD.
With his expertise, the center can
ofer treatments like balloon angio-
plasty, stents and other cardiovascu-
lar services.
“I am extremely pleased to have
Dr. Srinivasan join Halifax Heart
Center and the Center for Car-
diovascular Services,” says Habib
Bassil, MD, medical director for
HRH’s Center for Cardiovascular
Services. “We’ve been fortunate to
find talented physicians that create
a strong team of cardiologists, and
Dr. Srinivasan
helps complete
the spectrum
of services we
offer.”
Dr. Srinivasan is board-certifed
in internal medicine and cardiology.

aging population, along with the
prevalence of heart disease and
peripheral arterial disease (PAD),
make Dr. Srinivasan and the skills
he brings a valuable addition to the
medical staf.
“With this team of cardiolo-
gists, we are better able to respond
to patients’ needs,” Dr. Bassil says.
“Patients in our community will no
longer have to travel out of town to
receive those therapeutic modalities
or treatments such as angioplasty
and stent procedures, as well as
other heart-related services.
“We have a lot of heart, arterial
and peripheral artery disease in our
community that requires attention,”
Dr. Bassil says, explaining that heart
disease includes a number of serious
conditions, such as heart failure and
arrhythmia.
